A client came to me with a simple ask that had a big catch: She wanted a website that looked as good as her work. As an interior designer, her eye for design was the product so a generic template or a clunky portfolio grid wasn't going to cut it. The site needed to feel curated and calm, the same way her spaces did.
I went with WordPress for this one. It gave her the flexibility to manage content herself, without sacrificing the custom, high-end feel the brand needed. From there, I handled the whole thing top to bottom: site architecture and hierarchy, custom design, hosting and domain setup, and a portfolio structure built specifically to let her photography do the talking.
The blog was kept intentionally simple. She's a designer, not a content manager, so the goal was a setup she could log into and post from without a second thought.
A site that matched the quality of her actual work, was easy for her to run on her own, and structured so future projects could slot right into the portfolio without a rebuild. It's also a good example of what I bring to freelance and small-business clients: full ownership of a project from first sketch to launch.
Curious about the design decisions or the WordPress setup specifically? Happy to dig into either!
